LIVING IN SILVER LAKE

Silver Lake is where the coffee shops have pour-over menus and the vintage stores actually have good stuff. The reservoir loop is the neighborhood's living room — runners, dog walkers, and stroller-pushers doing laps past the hills. Sunset Blvd through here has evolved from dive bars to natural wine spots, but the neighborhood hasn't lost its edge. The hills mean incredible views (if you don't mind the stairs), and the side streets are full of architectural gems from every decade. It's the kind of place where your neighbor is a graphic designer, a musician, or both.
